The artist
W!LD are a Cork band built around brothers Louis and Perry Wild, two multi-instrumentalists who have spent more than fifteen years quietly assembling one of the more adventurous catalogues in Irish independent music. Their writing starts with melody — big, immediate, hard-to-shake pop melody — and then refuses to leave it alone, folding in jazz harmony, odd time signatures and structures that turn a corner just as you settle into them. The work rate has always been part of the story. Song Century, released in 2013, gathered one hundred original demos recorded over several years, an early map of a band already moving freely between pop, rock and progressive instincts. The first full studio album, Down the Rabbit Hole (2016), was cut at Lettercollum Studios in Timoleague with further recording in Cork, and set the standard for how carefully these songs are written, arranged and produced. Mood Swingers Club followed in 2022 with a wider cast of Cork players on drums, keys, guitars and voices — a fuller, warmer record that kept songcraft at the centre while giving the arrangements room to stretch. Perry writes the bulk of the material and handles guitar and lead vocals; Louis contributes songs, bass and vocals, and holds a first-class honours degree in Popular Music from MTU Cork School of Music. Their third album, New York Pink & Oxford Blue, arrives on 4 September 2026. It is the most ambitious thing they have attempted: 7/8 hip-hop, Brill Building balladry, flashes of musical theatre, all held together by the brothers' long-running obsession with a good tune.
